Rating 1 Excellent condition (as new)
Rating 2 Good condition for age
Rating 3 Average condition consider replacement within 2-3 years
Rating 4 Poor condition or availability of parts a concern, replace within 12 months
Rating 5 Unsafe, tested faulty and not serviceable, remove from use.

Rating 1

This rating is used for new equipment typically at time of commissioning or under 12 months of use and the device does comply with relevant electrical safety and performance testing standards.

Rating 2

This rating is used for equipment typically under 5 years of use, and does not show signs of mechanical stress, or heavy use, and the device does comply with relevant electrical safety and performance testing standards.

Rating 3

This rating is used for equipment that has been in use for typically 5-7 years and does show signs of mechanical stress, and heavy use, and the device does comply with electrical safety and performance.

Rating 4

This rating is used for equipment that has been in use for typically over 7 years and does show signs of mechanical stress, and heavy use, and the device does comply with electrical safety and performance testing. The device is in poor condition, and there is a concern that the supplier is no longer able to support with parts and/or information to service or repair the device, rendering the product non-serviceable.

Rating 5

This device could be of any age, however has failed the relevant electrical safety and performance test, therefore requires repair or replacement. This device must be removed from use until corrective action can be performed. If this device is deemed to be non-repairable, due to non-availability parts or service information, the recommendation would be to disposal of the device.

The training manager will keep a current database of all known non-serviceable devices, and live access by all U-Tech technicians is needed. To maintain this database, all technicians will need to provide feedback via the WhatsApp technical forum, or via email or text message to the training manager.

Risk assessment training will be included in the annual competency test.

Medical Equipment Checklist

U-Tech Medical provides Electrical safety testing and Performance verification on medical, hospital & dental equipment.

All testing meets Australian Standards (AS3551.2012) for medical devices and Australian Standards (AS4815) for autoclaves, in most cases testing is required annually.

For each device tested a detailed electronic test report is provided to meet all regulatory and accreditation requirements.
