AED Compliance Testing & Management

AED compliance testing, risk assessment, and supply of equipment and consumables for hospitals, clinics, schools, and workplaces — keeping your defibrillator registered, maintained, and ready to save a life.

An AED That Isn't Ready Is Not an AED.

An Automated External Defibrillator is only effective if it’s maintained, registered and ready for use. A flat battery, expired pads or a unit that hasn’t been inspected is a liability — not an asset. U-Tech Medical provides a comprehensive AED compliance program that takes the administrative burden off your team and ensures your defibrillator is always fit for purpose.

We carry out compliance testing and risk management assessments for AEDs in healthcare facilities, workplaces, dental practices and veterinary clinics. We also supply replacement AED units, pads, batteries and accessories when your existing equipment is due for replacement.

What's Included in Your Service:

Full AED Performance Testing

Using a cardiac arrest simulator, our technician tests actual energy delivery and device performance
output, not just a visual inspection. This confirms your AED is capable of delivering a therapeutic shock when needed.

Device Inspection & Verification

Visual inspection for wear or damage, self-tests initiated and verified, software checked and updated if required, and date and time verified. A calibration label is applied with the next inspection date recorded.

Pads & Battery Check

Electrode pads and batteries are physically checked, installed correctly, and expiry dates recorded. Expired or near-expiry consumables are replaced on the spot where stock is available.

AED Operator Training

Simulated shock delivery training for an AED operator is included in each annual program visit, so your nominated staff member is confident and capable in a cardiac emergency.

Risk Management Assessment

Site assessment to confirm the AED is correctly positioned, clearly signed, accessible to staff, and that a current rescue action plan is in place. Helps reduce risk and potential liability.

Electronic Compliance Report

A full electronic compliance report is emailed to your nominated contact on completion of each annual service — suitable for your records and any regulatory or accreditation requirements.

Ongoing Support Access

Program includes access to phone, email and help desk support for training queries, general enquiries, or urgent assistance throughout the year.

Consumables & Equipment Replacement

Supply of replacement electrode pads, batteries and accessories as required. Supply and installation of replacement AED units when your existing device reaches end of life or requires upgrade.

How it Works:

Step 1: Assessment

We attend your site, inspect all AED units and assess their compliance status — including battery life, pad expiry, signage and positioning.

Step 2: Testing

Each AED is functionally tested and a compliance record is completed. Any items requiring attention are flagged with recommended action.

Step 3: Follow-Up

Expired consumables are replaced on the spot where stock is available. A service report is issued, and your next service date is confirmed.

Common Questions from Medical Facilities

Most manufacturers recommend a formal inspection every 12 months, in addition to the automated self-test functions built into the device. Electrode pads typically have a 2-year shelf life and batteries a 4-year service life — these should be replaced before expiry.

Registration requirements vary by state. In Victoria, AEDs in certain locations must be registered on the Heart Safe Community register. In Queensland, AEDs in prescribed locations must be registered with Queensland Ambulance Service. U-Tech can advise on your specific obligations.

We service and supply consumables for the major AED brands used in Australian healthcare and workplace settings. Contact us with your device model and we’ll confirm compatibility.

We can advise on replacement options, supply a new unit, and manage the disposal of your old device. We’ll ensure the new unit is correctly installed, registered and staff are informed of its location.
